Charlotte, N.C., July 1, 2021 — Electrolux and its water filter supplier, KX Technologies (KXT), brought suit against National Trade Supply, LLC d/b/a Discount Filters, a seller of filters that Electrolux believes infringe KXT’s and Electrolux’s patents and infringe Electrolux’s trademarks. The complaint also charges false designation of origin and unfair competition under federal and North Carolina law.
These products include Frigidaire and Electrolux branded water filters designed for use in the refrigerators Electrolux manufactures. The action follows the two companies’ successful International Trade Commission action to block importation of infringing and counterfeit water filters.
