In the fall 2021, the Electrolux Food Foundation and Electrolux employees donated to the Red Cross – to enable them to feed 500 Afghan families in need for a month.
Foundation doubles employee donations
Electrolux employees were encouraged to donate to a campaign and then the Electrolux Food Foundation doubled the combined employee donation. By the end of the campaign, Electrolux employees had donated 80,042 SEK, which the Electrolux Food Foundation then doubled to a total amount of just over 185,000 SEK (USD 21,700 or EUR 18,700).
“We are proud to match the combined donations of our colleagues and it is a great opportunity for Electrolux employees and the Foundation to do good together,” says Ingrid Mellstig, Head of Electrolux Food Foundation. “We can really make a positive difference to the people who need it the most.”
Addressing food insecurity around the world
“Through our long-term partnership with the Swedish Red Cross and the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), we invest in addressing food insecurities where needed,” says Mellstig. “We will continue to run regular donation campaigns to help people in need around the world together with our employees.”
