Electrolux Group wins six iF Design Awards

Electrolux Group has won six iF Design Awards, once again being recognized for its thoughtful solutions for the kitchen, clothing care and wellbeing in the home.

The Electrolux and AEG products impressed an international judging panel in areas of user experience, innovation, functionality, and ergonomics.

“Designing an outstanding experience is at the heart of everything we do.” says Pernilla Johansson, Chief Design Officer at Electrolux.  “I’m very proud of the teams that have been recognised by iF. This prestigious competition receives more than 10,000 entries globally, with all Electrolux group submissions awarded.

“With three awards for the design experiences we offer in Latin America alone, not to mention those we offer in the other global regions, it highlights our ability to inspire people, no matter where they live through our design philosophy, ‘Human Touch’.

The award winners:

Electrolux Pure 4X Experience Series (Latin America)

The Electrolux Pure 4X is a water purifier that achieved a finalist nomination (Product category) and a full award in the ‘User Experience (UX)’ category.

The Pure 4X offers the opportunity for people to have access to sanitised drinking water where they really need it. Impressing the jury, all aspects of the design have been considered, with unboxing, installation, use, and intuitive digital support for maintenance and guidance.

Electrolux Pro Series (Latin America)

The iF jury responded favorably to the Electrolux Pro Series, a premium line of kitchen appliances that responds elegantly to the contemporary trend of open-plan kitchens. The line of products features a timeless look, balancing robustness and elegance with simple form, precise execution, and long-lasting materials.

AEG Matt Black Kitchen Collection (Europe)

This stylish collection offers the latest in kitchen technology and uses an etching process to create a matt glass fascia, a technology most associated with artwork and architectural components. The resulting matt texture has natural anti-fingerprint properties which means it is more resistant to stains, easier to clean and affords an advanced level of performance that is beautiful to look at and interact with.

AEG AX5/AX7 & Electrolux Well A5/A7 air purifiers (available globally)

While everyone could benefit from cleaner air at home, people don’t necessarily want their air purifier solutions to be clinical and sterile. The Electrolux (Well A5/ Well A7) and AEG (AX5/AX7) Air Purifier series stand apart with the use of materials that look natural in the home. The colors are calm and chosen to complement a broad range of considered interiors. Paint is not used, and the textile covers (made from recycled PET bottles), handles and feet can be exchanged and customized to fit the lifestyle of the owner – all features recognized by the judging panel.

AEG QX6/QX7/QX8 & Electrolux Q6/Q7/Q8 stick cleaners (available globally)

A great cleaning experience is all but guaranteed with a number of smart innovations. Highlighted to the judging panel: The easy-grip handle and low weight distribution makes the AEG/Electrolux cleaner range lighter in hand for effortless manoeuvrability and comfort in longer cleaning sessions. The Axial cyclonic technology ensures uncompromised performance throughout the clean, even while the dust bin fills up. The full tilt and slim frame enables cleaning under furniture as low as 135 mm from the ground, offering true versatility.

Care drum (available globally)

To be integrated into Electrolux and AEG laundry products globally from 2022, the new ‘Care’ drum started with the consumer insight that many people hand wash delicates because they don’t trust their machine to do so without causing damage to clothing and this design as a response to consumer need impressed the iF Design jury.

The close dialogue between engineering and design culminated in an innovative solution, with the resulting Care drum significantly gentler on fabrics. Abrasion to all clothing, not just delicates, is significantly reduced as garments glide smoothly thanks to the elevated cushion-like drum pattern and optimized lifter paddle. A thin film of water covers the holes during washing to provide a gentle laundry process and an enhanced consumer experience regardless of the type of clothing being cared for.
