Design Disciplines
Physicality in design
Through the many disciplines involved in shaping the physical design of Electrolux products throughout the development process, we define and set the standards for the overall user experience through esthetic appeal, fit-feel-finish, and usability. Physicality in design is also about maintaining a common brand identity across products and safeguard how they connect to the digital part of the experience.
Disciplines: Industrial Design, CMF Design, Fit-Feel-Finish Design, Product Graphic Design, Surface Design, Model making
Industrial designers are empathetic scriptwriters. We create a positive impression on our consumers through controllable meaningful experiences. Such as enabling a function to be understood and engaged with through a subtle, intuitive form, or through an explicit shape or color that grabs attention.
Our objective is to harness colors, materials, and finishes that create an unparalleled, memorable and sustainable experience for our consumers every time they engage with our products. We achieve this through understated, delightful textures, intriguing surfaces, durable materials and inspiring colors.
Digital and Service Design
Whether you interact with a product’s user interface, an app or one of the services we provide, every dimension of our solutions should connect well with the physical devices in the system. Digital and service design is also about exploring new business opportunities, guided by Human Touch, by connecting services with the physical and digital world using intelligent platforms.
Disciplines: Interaction Design, UI Design, Visual Design, UX Research, UX Writing, Prototyping, Service Design
It’s rewarding to be in a position that enables me to drive value and positive impact both on a human and a macro level. By reducing friction across different interfaces and modalities and defining the consumer experience holistically, we make a difference for our users. And through sustainable design, we make a difference for the environment.
It is truly exciting times at Electrolux as we are rapidly advancing in to a space where products, services and digital experiences co-exist. As a service designer I get to connect the dots both globally and across design, business, sustainability and IT, making me feel empowered to drive change and help push the needle towards a better and more sustainable future.
Communication in design
How do we conjure the greatest emotional impact? Communications in design supports our overall brand ambitions by developing detailed application guidelines and specifications for various touchpoints. The objective: to attract, inspire and motivate our consumers through text, images and graphics.
Disciplines: Communication Design, Packaging Design, Visual Imaging
Communication Design is all about the holistic view. Our brand stories come to life through the images, text and graphics – forming the red thread between brand, design, sustainability and market communication. We want our consumers to engage and have the best experience through different touchpoints. It is a very creative and inspiring area to work with!
Electrolux is on a journey towards a more sustainable future, and part of this includes minimizing harmful materials in our solutions. As a Senior Packaging Designer, I connect to this goal daily by making conscious decisions about the packaging and instore materials as well as the unboxing experience. Our work in Communication Design calls on us to collaborate with great colleagues from many different business areas and functions. This, and so much more is what makes my job rewarding and fun!
Design strategy
From the research that inspires us to the structured processes that guide our design projects across the finish line, these disciplines set the strategic direction and organizational framework for design at Electrolux. It’s also about achieving effectiveness throughout the team, and championing design across the Electrolux Group.

Experience Design is a team sport! Empathy and collaboration are important elements, as we have to continuously be in context and co-create with users and internal teams. We are problem solvers, starting by understanding real people’s problems and gaining insights to drive impactful human-centered experiences.
Understanding the human experience is at the heart of Design Research. It inspires the imagination while informing the strategic direction of design through empathetic, immersive, and iterative approaches. It sheds light on the unknown and the familiar at early explorative stages, to guide us in creating truly meaningful experiences for people.
