We are making efficient appliances accessible to more people, creating opportunities for a better life for everyone.
Electrolux will leverage its global presence to accelerate technology transfer to emerging markets.
Today, when people emerge from poverty, one of the first things they buy is a fridge. Small and major appliances – from ovens and refrigerators to washing machines and vacuum cleaners – free people up to be more productive, fulfilled and empowered, enhancing their quality of life.
At the same time, our society is facing environmental, social and economic challenges. Climate change and water scarcity will affect us all, and demand for natural resources will rise as the global middle class more than doubles by 2030.
Efficient appliances, used properly, play a key role in minimizing the use of energy and water in the home. As a global company, we have the opportunity to roll out efficient, affordable solutions for the growing middle class. This is a new and exciting commitment for Electrolux, extending the reach of our work on product efficiency to new consumers.
We will continue to explore this area during 2016, delivering more efficient products in the mass segment in selected markets.
This promise will contribute to the Climate Target 2020
