We are reducing our own footprint by running efficient operations across the world.
Electrolux will continue to reduce its environmental footprint by shifting to renewables
and optimizing use of energy and other resources across operations.
Our promise of efficiency applies to everything we do. We aim to run resource-efficient operations. It is an integral part of applying leading edge practices. It is also a reflection of our values – what we stand for as a company – and being a part of the solution is important for both our employees and consumers.
Electrolux has been reducing energy, water and waste across our operations for many years through the Green Spirit program. Improving energy efficiency at our manufacturing sites is saving more than SEK 400m every year through reduced energy costs.
This year, we surpassed our 15%, four-year energy reduction target by three percentage points – and in 2016, it’s time to be even bolder. Between now and 2020 we will focus on renewable energy, particularly at manufacturing sites where our operational energy efficiency is already high.In 2016, 13 Electrolux manufacturing sites in Europe will only procure electricity from renewable sources, which will reduce our total emissions in Europe by 60%.
This promise will contribute to the Climate Target 2020
