Composition of governance bodies
The key diversity priority for Electrolux is to increase the gender balance at senior management levels. Although diversity issues are managed at the business area level, Electrolux defined Group objectives to increase female representation by 2015 as follows:
- In Tier 2 positions: 25%
- Combined Tiers 2 and 3: 30%
The Group’s current workforce consists of 32% (36) female employees, while 20% (20) of management positions are held by women. Of its nine members, three women comprise the Board of Directors. If employee union representatives are included, there are four female representatives.
Six countries are represented in Group Management, with eight of 13 members coming from countries outside Sweden—a high number for a Swedish company. Additionally, five of six heads of business areas were locally recruited for their posts.
