Workforce
At year-end Electrolux employed 50,920 (51,750) people and the average number of employees during the year was 51,544 (50,633). There has been some organizational growth in Brazil.
Employee turnover rate
The Group’s turnover rate is currently collated locally. The company's 84% internal hiring ratio for senior management is considered healthy in global manufacturing operations. See table LA2: Employee turnover.
Employee feedback
The Employee Engagement Survey (EES) measures corporate culture, team efficiency, employee engagement and leadership. In 2010, the survey was distributed to 16,393 employees and had a global response rate of 74%. The results of the 2010 EES show that Electrolux is in line with and/or exceeds the external benchmark for employee engagement. Key improvement areas include continual performance feedback and recognizing employee performance (see case study).
Employees and employee benefits
The Workplace Standard stipulates that all employees are expected to be remunerated at levels no less than local minimum wage based on legally-stipulated working hours. Additionally, each operational unit is responsible for providing its employees with all legally-mandated benefits to which they are entitled (i.e.: medical and social insurance and pensions). For more information, see the Workplace Standard.
Electrolux applies both long-term and short-term incentive programs to full time employees. Benefits to Group and senior management are described in the Board of Directors report in the Annual report. Compensation for the members of the highest governance bodies, senior managers and executives are currently not based on the Group's social and environmental performance.
